Her achievements as a child performer in America (which we call Maureen O'Hara today) would certainly put her in the category of child prodigies. As a person with Irish origins, who was surrounded her by talented parents and family did this naturally. Maureen made her entrance into the safe haven of her parents on August 17, 1920 located in Ranelagh (a suburb of Dublin), Ireland. Marguerita FitzSimons was a talented contralto. Charles FitzSimons owned the Shamrock Rovers soccer club in Ireland and ran a Dublin business. Maureen FitzSimons was the second child from Charles FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons, Florrie Fitzsimons Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons completed this wonderful family. Maureen excelled as a sportswoman and was a gruelling athlete in games when she was young. This naturally-born interest with her ability in performing was astonishing. As evidenced by receiving nearly every Feis award for drama and theatrical performing her country offered. When she was fourteen, she was admitted into the Abbey Theater, where her goal was to study operatic singing as well as classical theater.
